Aims and objectives

The Bupa Foundation is an independent medical research charity that funds medical research to prevent, relieve and cure sickness and ill health. The Foundation aims to produce long-term benefits that have the potential to improve the health of individuals across the UK.

The Bupa Foundation has donated approximately £26 million to medical research and healthcare initiatives across a range of disciplines from medicine to surgery to occupational health. The Foundation donates approximately £2.5 million per year through its medical research grants, specialist grants for medical research on a specific "theme", Philip Poole-Wilson Seed Corn Grants and its annual Foundation awards. The vast majority of this goes to medical research teams in NHS hospitals. This year Bupa donated £2.6 million to the Bupa Foundation.
